New York Times Cover
I redesigned a New York Times cover for the issue "Creativity in Isolation" and it reflects on the ways people were able to motivate themselves to stay creative during the pandemic. There are a lot of undesirable feelings surrounding quarantining and the pandemic. This widespread sentiment inspired me to provide a different perspective and turn a negative situation into positive one.
A lot of people report that they were able to find artistic inspiration through their isolation period because they were encouraged to think about the things they are passionate about and what matters to them the most. People often find peace when they engage in daily activities and meditative practices such as reading, journaling, or going on walks. When you take time for yourself, you become more motivated to be creative because you are putting all your energy into improving your state of mind.
Process
My cover illustrates the idea of being in your own world and generating creative ideas. I decided to use bright colors as a way to represent the positives of quarantine and how it can allow people to discover more about themselves. Additionally, The dinosaurs represent exploration and adventure as a way to inspire people who are spending time alone to explore new activities and try the things that they've always wanted to do
